Humanoids Built to Benefit Society
1X is the global leader in safe robotics, moving towards a future where humanoids work alongside people to help meet the world’s growing labor demands and support humans in the workplace, at home, and throughout the modern world.
1X approached GrandArmy to develop a comprehensive brand identity, including naming, strategic positioning, messaging, visual identity system, and website. The brand’s ethos inspired a visual and verbal identity that reflects the natural movement, warmth, and intricate simplicity of their humanoids, EVE and NEO, and gives a nod to the company’s Scandinavian roots.
Breaking from the norms of an industry focused on controlled, commercial environments, we’ve positioned 1X as a lifestyle brand, rooting their identity in soft, organic forms and warm approachability.
The rounded terminals of the logo form the foundation of the 1X brand: a system comprised of circular nodes and rounded corners that help reinforce the brand’s values of safety and human-centric design.
1X is setting the standard for safety in humanoid robotics. The name “1X” speaks to the robots’ ability to work in real time at human speed, as opposed to other humanoids which often need to operate at a much slower rate to be safe around humans.
1X is at the forefront of the next technological revolution, building toward an unprecedented vision: people and humanoids, working and learning, side by side.
GrandArmy crafted language around the brand’s three guiding principles: safety first, everyday intelligence, and global scale. These core values act as pillars for the brand that differentiate 1X from their competitors.

Headquartered in Moss, Norway, 1X combines advanced robotics hardware with the latest artificial intelligence models, in partnership with their Series A lead investor OpenAI, to produce “embodied intelligence.” 1X’s goal is to create general purpose androids to support humans in work, at home, and throughout the modern world.
GrandArmy created a brand identity for 1X that aligns with the company's ethos. Unlike many of the cold, rigid humanoids that exist today, 1X’s brand is rooted in soft, organic forms and warm approachability, just like their androids EVE and NEO. Again breaking from the norms of an industry focused on controlled, commercial environments, 1X is a lifestyle brand. Using a bright, accessible system of design and language, 1X inspires everyday people to imagine how humanoids will practically benefit their lives.
