Silver Lining Opticians is the leading independent eyewear destination in New York. They offer a collection of vintage and contemporary frames as well as their own private line.
In creating an identity system for Silver Lining, GrandArmy was presented with a unique challenge: Create a word-mark as primary logo, but also create a monogram to inlay on the frames of glasses, something that would function at ultra small sizes. To make things more difficult, Silver Lining asked that the Monogram be pulled from the word mark without changing the component characters in any way.
Our solution was to nest the capital L of Lining within Silver, creating a ligature that breaks away nicely to create the SL monogram.
