After completing the branding for The Ghetto Film School, GrandArmy was asked to create an identity for their sister school, The Cinema School, under a totally different brief. The Cinema School is the nation's first film high school.
Whereas GFS was intentionally disruptive, The Cinema School sought to compete with the upper crust of private New York City educational institutions.
Our solution was inspired by the first film ever shot - Muybridge's Horse in Motion. We developed an icon system based on the moment Muybridge's rider left the ground, a seminal moment in film-making, and, metaphorically, an apt symbol for the potential of young NYC students.
